Admission Card to the Coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902 / A prayer for the success of his kingdom from the day of the coronation

WESTMINSTER ABBY CORONATION OF THEIR MAJESTIES KIND EDWARD VII AND QUWEEN ALEXANDRA - An official invitation which served as an entrance ticket to the coronation event of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra which took place at Westminster Abbey on  August 9, 1902. Ticket No. 12, Block H, which was given to M. james o. staliet.

Also attached A special prayer which was distributed to the participants in the event - 'Hymns for the coronation of His Majesty King Edward VII', and the English national anthem. (4 pages).

The official coronation date of King Edward [1841-1910] was scheduled for June 1902, but was postponed to August 9 because the king suffered an outbreak of their appendix three days before the original date. As a result he missed his coronation feast, for by the day it fell ill, all the guests had already arrived at Buckingham Palace for the celebration, and it was too late to cancel. The king later made up for his absence at an event for another dinner, which was served simultaneously to more than 700 people in the hall. Outside the halls of honor, about half a million Londoners attended.

Edward VII was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King of the British Commonwealth and British Emperor from 22 January 1901 until his death on 6 May 1910. He was known as the "Uncle of Europe", as he had blood ties with almost all other monarchs in Europe.
