Beit Shmuel / Siata DiShmaya / Psikta Rabaty - the copy of Rabbi Mordechai Klatzky with his handwritten glosses


Beit Shmuel Pietrkow 1905, bound with 'Siata DiShmaya'' Warsaw 1910, and with the 'Psikta Derav Kahana' 1913, the copy of Rabbi Mordechai Klatzky - owner's stamp, with dozens of his handwritten glosses. The glosses themselves, some of them are long and deal with accuracies and grammars in the Agodaeh, morals, customs, and depth of commentary on the Midrash and the bible.


The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai son of Rabbi Zvi Klatzky [1870-1933], a student of the Volozhin Yeshiva in his youth, was ordained by the Natzi'v in 1892 when he was only 22 years old, And studied for about two years with Rabbi Shmuel Mohliver in Bialystok and also ordained by him in 1897. In 1905 he moved to the United States and served as rabbi in Altona (Pennsylvania) and then in Bangor in the state of Maine at the northeastern end of the United States and then - at the latest in 1927 - was appointed rabbi in Boston where a unique community called the "Shas Society" was organized. And a synagogue was erected and consecrated for Rabbi Klatsky, and is known as one of the leaders of Boston Jewry. Printed in New York in 1928 his book 'Tchelet Mordechai' - Responsa and Encores to the Tractates of the Shas.
