WWI WWII Colonel Named Silver Star Mexican Border Medal
WWI – WWII Group to Colonel Lloyd S. Partridge of Norfolk, VA. On the Mexican Border campaign he served as a Sergeant with the 1st Field Artillery, Virginia National Guard, and in WWI was with the 12th Field Artillery, 2nd Division as a 2nd Lieutenant in the AEF, France. After, he served with the 81st Field Artillery of the 8th Division, and in WWII was with G-3 of the War Department General Staff and spent seven weeks in the Pacific Theater. He earned a Silver Star in WWI for him and two other officers carrying out their duties in reconnaissance and liaison under fire and stress in a satisfactory manner during recent operations again the enemy. Lot includes his low numbered (1818) split brooch engraved Silver Star (may have been re-ribboned long, long ago), numbered and engraved Mexican Border medal (2556) traceable to him, engraved Army Commendation Medal, WWI Victory medal with three bars, original wood two piece 2nd Division patch, NS Meyer General Staff badge, and campaign medals as shown. The Silver Star, WWI Victory, and Mexican Border have a very old shine to them, probably done by Partridge pre-WWII. Comes with some of the boxes for the medals and some copied research. The display case does not come with this group.
