Torah words written by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv in honor of Tiferet Bachurim's anniversary, Parshas Behalosecha. Includes words of aggada regarding the flags of the tribes and reference to the mission of the Tiferet Bachurim Society. "One of its tasks is to establish the flag of Torah and influence...all the factions and particularly...those who live everyday near secular life and in an evironment foreign to that of the Torah. To dedicate some time every day to absorb the cure [Torah], so that none of the prevailing philosophies should move him from his position..."
Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv was [1910-2012] was born in Šiauliai , Lithuania; an only child, born to his parents after seventeen years of marriage. In 1924, he and his family moved to Eretz Yisrael and settled in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. He was a dayan on the Beit Din HaRabbani HaGadol, and later became the foremost posek of the generation.
