The title page has the owner notation "This book belongs to ..Yonah Forst, now a disciple in Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin".
Rabbi Yonah Forst was an elite disciple of Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin. He was noted for his tremendous diligence and genius. After learning in Lublin for a number of years, his feet became paralyzed and he never recovered. During those years, Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner dedicatedy took care of him, as he was his chavrusa in yeshiva. During the Holocaust, he suffered many tribulations, but miraculously was saved. He later established the "Tiferet Yonah" yeshiva in Boro Park. Ex-libris of the central library in Warsaw: This is one of the few Jewish books in Poland that survived the destruction of 1940-45.
