"Seder HaTamid" prayerbook, per the customs of the "four communities". Sections 1-2. Avignon, 1767. Rare.
Sections one and two [two volumes], from the Seder HaTamid prayerbook arranged by Rabbi Eliyahu Karmi. Avignon. [1767]. Per the customs of the "four communities" - Avignon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Cavaillon, and Carpentras.
Section one: Weekdays prayers, Rosh Chodesh, Purim, supplications, tzadok hadin, circumcision, hymns and the redemption of the first born. Antiquated, worn leather binding with worming damage to its back. Aging stains and peelings on a number of leaves [with loss of text], mispaginated, cut and detached leaves at the conclusion. Moderate-poor condition.
Section two: Prayers for Shabbat and holidays, ethics of the fathers, hymns. [1], 228, 29 leaves. Another seven leaves at the conclusion, mispaginated: 130-33 leaves. Original, antiquated, binding - peeling. Leaf 137 is missing its bottom section. Spine is partially broken. Moderate condition.
This is a very rare prayer book, one of the few works printed in Avignon [France]. Only five Hebrew works were printed in this city in the 18th and 19th centuries.
