A Collection [2] of Important Books on Ritual Slaughter. End of the 19th Century and Beginning of the 20th Century
* HaShecita V'Habedika by Dr. Yitzchak son of Rabbi Aharon Demba [a doctor in the Alexandri Hospital in Saint Petersburg]. Warsaw, 1896.
The history of the opposition to ritual slaughter, cruelty to animals by Jews and other nations, know what to reply - where do we find ritual slaughter in the Torah, and where is the source that bedika is to protect health. X, [1], pages. 24 cm.
* Zikaron Yosef by Rabbi Yosef Aharon Taran [Dayan and ritual slaughterer in a village in Argentina]. Jerusalem, 1924. Two parts.
Part one: About the permission [to eat] wild geese in Argentina, with several proofs...from the Talmud and the poskim, as well as...necessary laws which branch off from this...as well as copies from the approbations of the great Rabbis...who agreed to permit them and all of the strange-sized birds. Printing press of Yehuda Aharon Weiss. 8, [1] pages, 21 leaves. Two leaves were added after the title page which were printed in 1926, with the author's biography and picture, an approbation for the book and a table of corrections.
Part two: The laws of treifot and srachot hareyah. And the laws of nefuchat ha'reyah. And the booklet Tikkun HaZahav...and the great prohibition against travelling on the tramway on Shabbat and festivals...laws of converts. A commentary on the mishna "V'Tigar B'Satan". Rohald printing press. [1], 16 leaves.
In the 1920's, wild geese appeared in Argentina with dubious signs of being kosher. The book was written to prove that it is permitted to eat the geese, with proofs from the Talmud and the Poskim. A separate title page for each section.
Not bound, aging stains, fine condition.
