Group of [4] Important Letters and Documents from Agudat Yisrael, Early 20th Century

* Letter of Torah novellae from Rabbi Yisrael Ze'ev Mintzberg, Ra'ava"d of the Chassidic community in Jerusalem, author of She'erit Yisrael (1872-1962). The letter is addressed to the editorial staff of Kol Yisrael following halachahs of Shemittah being printed in the newspaper. Rabbi Mintzberg comments on several that are incorrect in his opinion. Jerusalem, 1937.

[1] leaf official stationery, entirely handwritten and signed by him.

* Letter with a commitment from R' Binyamin Cohen that he will not print any notices on behalf of Va'ad HaIr HaAshkenazi or on behalf of Agudat Yisrael before receiving approval from those responsible for payment. Nissan, 1930.

[1] leaf paper, typewritten, signed by him.

* Letter from Poalei Agudat Yisrael to the [Mandatory] foreclosure office as a result of the debts of the free soup kitchen that was devoted to serving the starving residents of the city. Their expenses had skyrocketed and it became impossible for them to make their payments. As a result, the office wanted to seize their utensils. In this letter, its leaders express their dismay, declaring that they did not work for profit; their entire purpose was for the public good.

[1] leaf paper, typewritten.

* Protocol of a meeting of the European Agudat Yisrael's executive committee, Nissan, 1952. Memorandum of the discussion with Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Levin of Jerusalem; Rabbi Avraham Moshe Babad, Av Beit Din of Sunderland; Rabbi L. Henig of London; Rabbi Eliyahu Munk, Av Beit Din of Adath Yisroel in Golders Green, at that time a rabbi of Paris; and a long line of activists. The protocol was written in German. It includes confidential details of the relationship between the European and Jerusalem branches of Agudat Yisrael, as well as a lot of material about the efforts to assist Holocaust survivors who had ascended to the Land of Israel.
