Collection of Original Letters from the Ba'al Shem Tov and his Disciples, per a Faithful and Precise Transcription, with Comments and a Selection of Articles and Legends from the World of Chassidut [Hebrew]. Published by the researcher, fraud and tirelessly controversial Chaim Bloch. Vienna-Berlin, 1923.
With letters from the correspondence between the emperor's court in Vienna and the national presidency in Lvov about the Admo"r Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin and the episode of his escape. Letter from the Mahara"l of Prague about creating the golem. Several pictures and facsimiles printed at the end of the book.
According to many current scholars, it is almost certain that these letters are not original, and possibly even fakes. There is a deliberation as to whether Bloch faked some of the letters himself, or whether the fraud took place several years before.
The Mahara"l's "letter" is not original; it was taken from the book Nifla'ot HaMahara"l - which is also suspected of being fraudulent.
Interesting historic affair, still being investigated by the best scholars.
