Unfamiliar Photograph of Rabbi Tuviah Yehudah [Tovyomi] Guttentag, Av Beit Din of Sochatchin, Disciple of the Avnei Nezer, with his Stamp
Beautiful picture of Rabbi Tuviah Yehuda Guttentag [Guttentag-Tovyomi]. His official stamp from the time he served as av beit din of Sochatchin appears on the back.
Rabbi Tuviah was a disciple of the Avnei Nezer of Sochachov and of the Imrei Emet of Gur. He served as av beit din Sochatchin. He ascended to the Land of Israel towards the end of his life. He published many ideological essays about the correctness of the Chareidi-Jewish way of life. He passed away in 1953.
A later photograph of him is known, from after his ascent to the Land of Israel. This earlier photograph is unfamiliar, possibly entirely unknown.
