Letter (approx. 8 lines) handwritten and signed by R. Chaim Ozer Grodzinski. Vilna, 14th Sivan 1923.
Recommendation for R. Eliyahu Gordon, "a rabbi of Vilna" - he served as rabbi in Shnipishok (Šnipiškės), a small suburb of Vilna; who was travelling to the United States. R. Chaim Ozer praises R. Eliyahu as an excellent preacher, apart from being an experienced Torah scholar and posek, and asks his acquaintance in the United States to help him find a rabbinic position.
R. Chaim Ozer Grodzinski (1863-1940), rabbi of Vilna and leader of the entire European Jewry.
R. Eliyahu Gordon (1865-1932), served as rabbi for over forty years in various places in Lithuania and the United States.
