Part of an Etrog Case Sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to "The Man who did not Surrender", Rabbi Eliezer Nannas, for the Jews of Russia - with his Handwriting - Extremely Rare!
The Rebbe sent an Etrog to Rabbi Eliezer Nannas. On its cardboard case the rabbi wrote: "Russia". Before us is the part of the case on which this word is written in the Rebbe's handwriting. Extremely rare!
In another handwriting, from the same time, an explanation was written: "a large Etrog for a Russian Jew".

Added is an envelope which contained a letter the Rebbe had sent to Rabbi Nannas in 1978.

The Rebbe was known for his activities for the Russian Jewry throughout the years, which derived from his love of each and every Jew and the desire to help him both materially and spiritually. Thus, he used to send to the Jews of Russia Matzah, Etrogim and other ritual articles.
The condition of the Jews of Russia was top priority for the Rebbe and often, when he spoke of their condition and total devotion to observing the Mitzvot, he would cry bitterly.
Doing so he followed in the footsteps of his father-in-law the Rebbe Rayatz, who acted devotedly for the Jews of Russia. He raised funds for them, especially for Kimcha De'Pischa and recruited dozens of rabbis and public personalities from Europe, the USA and the Land of Israel to help him. The activities of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and his father-in-law the Rayatz saved thousands of lost Jewish souls.
