Letter by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook confirming the term of Rabbi David Shlomo Kosovsky as the Rav of the "Mishkenos Sha'ananim" synagogue of the Yemin Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem. With his handwritten English signature. Jerusalem, 1930. 


An official English document in which the Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisroel Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook confirms that Rabbi David Shlomo Kosovsky was the Rav of the "Mishkenos Sha'ananim" synagogue of the Yemin Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem during the years 1927-1929. Jerusalem, 1930. 


[1] leaf, official stationery. 26 cm. Englich. Carbon paper copy of a typewritten letter, with the handwritten English signature of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook and of the secretary of the office of the Chief Rabbinate and with the stamp of the Chief Rabbinate of Eretz Yisroel.  


Rabbi David Shlomo Kosovsky-Shachor (1905-1969) the nephew of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky. the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Kosovsky who was Rav in several towns in Lithuania, Russia and Belarus and Rosh Av Beis Din of Johannesburg, North Africa. Was born in Belarus, immigrated to Israel and studied at the Slobodka yeshiva in Hebron. After the massacre of his friends and teachers in the 1929 Riots, he planned to travel to the United States and serve as a Rabbi. For this purpose, he received from Rabbi Kook a Rabbinic certification and the letter before us. In 1936 he was certified as a lawyer and was one of the first Haredi lawyers in the Israel.
