"A truly mystical journey!

This painting captures the quintessential “wandering Chossid”

Bedecked in holiness with his precious Tallis wrapped around him, moving soundlessly within the labyrinth of quaint cobblestone streets that connect the intricate fabric of Tsefas. A little gem of a town in Norther Israel, nestling humbly within the majestic heights of its picture backdrop. How apt a setting for this study!

Tsefas is often described as having its own spiritual energy. Attracting artisans and musicians, the young the old, a perfect melting pot - all find their place in her.

This vibrant, energetic yet thought provoking painting, takes the viewer down a remarkable road of ancient divinity. Combining the green vegetation, with the lustrous rays of golden sunlight that seem to percolate down through the high stone walls. A fusion of colures, undulating and blending, the many shades of green contrasting with each brushstroke. Evoking in the viewer, a sense of spiritual purity and (perhaps) a glimpse of divinity itself.

This “wandering Chossid”, so deep in thought, is painted as I remember my own “Sabba” (grandfather), his face radiant, lost in pure thought, meditating over a piece of Torah Hakedosha!

So I invite the viewer to stroll with me down these ancient well-trodden cobblestones, journey if you please far back through the generations as we walk the paths of our ancestors - the very steps the Ari Hakodosh זצ״ל walked."
