Personal Letter by Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna to his Friend Rabbi Yekutiel Kushelevsky - Jerusalem, 1945
A personal letter from Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna, the Rosh Yeshiva of "Knesset Yisrael" in Hebron, to his friend Rabbi Yekutiel Kushelevsky. In the letter Rabbi Sarna describes his great weakness and how he must rest for a few weeks. The entire letter is written in Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna's handwriting. Jerusalem, 1945.

Rabbi Kushelevsky was a childhood friend of Rabbi Sarna, and was a member of one of the first groups of students who immigrated from Slabodka to establish the yeshiva in Hebron under Rabbi Sarna's leadership. Four years after settling in Hebron Rabbi Kushelevsky was miraculously saved from the 1929 massacres in which 24 of the Yeshiva's students were murdered. Rabbi Kushelevsky even took part in saving Jews from the riots, despite his own injury. He was later appointed to serve as Rabbi of Zichron Yaakov, as successor of his great father-in-law Rabbi Yaakov Orlansky, who was murdered in the riots in Hebron.

Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna (1889-1969), one of the great leaders of Torah and Mussar. A close disciple of the Alter of Slabodka, Rabbi Natan Zvi Finkel, and the son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Mordecai Epstein the Rosh Yeshiva of "Knesset Yisrael" in Slabodka. Rabbi Yechezkel was one of the founders of the branch of the yeshiva in the city of Hebron, and in 1934, following his father-in-law's death, was appointed to officially succeed him. One of the heads of the "Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah". His opinion was publicly heard on every public topic which came up for discussion.
