'Tikkun Lei Shavuot' - Copy that Belonged to the G-dly Kabbalist Rabbi Shalom Hediah

Kri'ei Moed - service for the seventh night of Passover and Tikkun Leil Shavuot. Personal copy of the rosh yeshivah of the Beit E-l Kabbalists' yeshivah and leader in Jerusalem, Rabbi Shalom Hediah.

Handwritten self-dedication on leaf 1, written and signed by Rabbi Shalom Hediah: "Bought ... to serve my Creator, the youth Shalom Hediah, S"T." On that same leaf, there is an additional signature in Oriental script: "The youth Shalom Mizrachi, S"T."

As is known, Kabbalah maintains that the seventh night of Passover and Shavuot night are the loftiest nights of the year, in which it is customary to stay awake and study Torah. As appears in "Sha'ar HaKavannot" (Shavuot sermons, Sermon 1) "Know that whoever does not sleep on this night at all, even for a moment, and occupies himself with Torah all night - is promised to live out the year; that nothing bad will happen to him that year, as Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai wrote in the foreword to Bereishit: One who does this will complete the year." Furthermore, the Chayyei Adam states that the year depends on this matter - if he does not sleep at all, he will certainly not die that year. As a result, the custom spread among the Jewish people to study Torah the entire night of Shavuot. Needless to say, the magnitude of the segulah and virtue of reading the tikkun from a book that belonged to the leading Kabbalist of his generation cannot be overstated.
