First Hebrew Book Ever Printed in Germany! Darkei Lashon Hakodesh. Augsburg, 1520.

Book of Hebrew language and grammar by Rabbi Moshe Kimchi, brother of the Radak.

This sefer, was written concisely and clearly and gained great popularity and was even translated into several languages. It is also known by its alternate title Mahalach Shvilei Hada’as, after the three first words in the sefer which is an acronym of the author’s name, Moshe.
Title page with a poem praising the virtue of wisdom.
The sefer opens with a foreword by the editor who signs his name only as Refael, as well as a brief introduction in Latin.
Beautiful copy with high quality printing on thick paper. Large letters with punctuations.
This was the first Hebrew book printed in Germany. It is extremely rare, only one other known copy existing, at the British Museum Library.

Augsburg, 1520. The publishing year and location are printed in the colophon.
[28] leaves (7X 4-leaf quiers). Page size: 21 cm. Good condition. Rich leather binding.
