Swastika - Yiddish Poem Book Against Nazi Regime - 1938
Swastica, a poetry book in Yiddish, written by the poet Abraham Nahum Stencl, prior to WW2. Stencl, a Polish born Yiddish poet, was active in Berlin. He was arrested in 1936, tortured by the Gestapo, and later released and made his escape to London. This book was written, to some degree, under the influence of that event. The cover shows 2 snakes standing in the shape of swastika. The poems include: Swastika, The Hero of Nuremberg, The Fuhrer, and The Minister of Propaganda. Printed by Y. Naraditski, London, 1938. 31 pages. Approximately 22X15 cm. Average condition, worn cover (detached, losses, tears), the pages are in good condition (creases, stains, wear).
