"Iton Meyuchad" – Large Collection of Issues – Tel-Aviv, 1930s
"Iton Meyuchad" (Special Newspaper). Publisher and editor: Alexander Zauber. 80 issues. Tel-Aviv, 1934-1938 (one issue from 1940). Hebrew.
Large collection of issues of "Iton Meyuchad", covering crime, the personal lives of well-known personalities and scandals in Tel-Aviv of the 1930s. Accompanied by numerous pictures.
The tabloid "Iton Meyuchad" was published during the years 1933-1952. It was written, edited and published by Alexander Zauber (1903-1961) and stood out for its sensational articles, the first of their kind in Palestine. The front pages displayed flashy headlines ("Gangsters in Tel-Aviv"; "From the Secrets of the House on Bialik Street"; "The Double Life of the Gentleman-Thief"; "The Dictator Stalin – a Landlord in Tel-Aviv"); the name "Iton Meyuchad" was printed in cursive Hebrew, with a half-grush (5 mils) coin – the price of the issue, threaded on the letter "ע". After the newspaper ceased publication, Zauber joined the editorial staff of Yedioth Aharonot and established its "7 Yamim" supplement.
See enclosed material.
