Letter of Blessing and Guidance from the Lubavitcher Rebbe – Adar 1956 – Blessings for Good Health and Purim Wishes – "All the Letters are Handed over to Me, and I Am the One Who Opens Them" – "New Medication Which Have Recently Been Introduced. May the Treatment Be Successful"

Letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneersohn – the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with his signature. Brooklyn NY, 4th Adar 1956.
Typewritten on the official stationery of the rebbe, with his signature, and several words and corrections in his handwriting.

Addressed to R. Naftali Gluskin in Bnei Brak. At the beginning of the letter, the rebbe relates to the concerns R. Naftali raises that his letters are not transmitted to the rebbe, and replies: "This concern has no basis, since all the letters are handed over to me, and I am the one who opens them".
Further in the letter, the rebbe guides him regarding the medical care of his wife, Rebbetzin Tamar Ita Gluskin: "Surely his wife the Rebbetzin is in the care of medical specialists, who are familiar with new medication which have recently been introduced", and blesses him: "May the treatment be successful". The rebbe continues: "In conjunction with seeking doctors, there must be a firm trust in the Creator of the world… and the greater the trust is – the greater the improvement in the health and the success of the treatment will be".
The rebbe concludes the letter with wishes for the upcoming Purim: "And upon entering the month which was reversed… to joy and happiness… may it be G-d's will that this will take place in her regard as well, both in material and spiritual areas, and the joy… will be drawn over into the entire year". He asks R. Gluskin to pass his words on to his wife: "Surely he will give over the contents of this letter, or he will show this to his wife the Rebbetzin, since these words are directed to her as well".
At the end of the letter, after "Bivracha" (with blessings), the rebbe added in his handwriting "for good news in all the above matters".

Mrs. Tamar-Ita Gluskin, wife of R. Naftali Gluskin and daughter of R. Shimon Moshe Diskin Rabbi of Lechovitz. She was a close friend of Rebbetzin Chana, the rebbe's mother. In 1944-1945, while Rebbetzin Chana was a widow living alone in Almaty, Tamar-Ita assisted her devotedly, despite the risk involved. In one of her letters, the Rebbetzin wrote to her: "I remember well how you related to me… at a time when no one wanted to be in my vicinity". She passed away in 1987.

The present letter was not published in Igrot Kodesh of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Aerogram. 30.5 cm. Good condition. Folding marks. Marginal tears and small holes (not affecting text). Stains. Inscriptions on verso.
