Letter of Blessing and Guidance from the Lubavitcher Rebbe – 1954 – Matchmaking Proposal with an Older Girl – "May G-d Guide Him on the Good and Straight Path Both in Material and Spiritual Matters"
Letter from Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneersohn – the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with his signature. Brooklyn NY, 29th Kislev 1954.
Typewritten on the official stationery of the rebbe, with his signature.
Written in response to a request to hear the rebbe's opinion "as he was proposed a match with a 35-year-old girl". The rebbe replies and instructs: "One must inquire why the girl is not yet married, since this is unusual, and according to the information he receives – he will make a decision". The rebbe concludes: "May G-d guide him on the good and straight path, both in material and spiritual matters".
Published in Igrot Kodesh of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (vol. XXI, letter 8035).
Aerogram. Approx. 30 cm. Fair-good condition. Folding marks and creases. Tears and tiny holes to margins and folds (slightly affecting text). Stains and wear.
