הצוללת הישראלית " Gal" השתמשה בפרוטוקול תקשורת המחייב אותה לשלוח אות בדיקה תכוף ולבדוק תעבורת רדיו במרווחי זמן , לשלוח מברקים בכל צלילה ובעלייתם על המים ועם סיום הצלילה. פרוטוקול זה נערך בקלח מבטיעת הצוללת "דקר" שאבדה בדרכה לישראל בינואר 1968.
יש כיתוב בגב הלוחית - מזכרת מהלוללת חודשים מספר לפני פירורקה.
הצוללת "גל" פעלה בין השנים 1976-2002, היא מוצגת כיום במוזיאון הימי בחיפה.
