Exclusive and Significant Notebook, in the Handwriting of Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky, Rosh Yeshivat Ponovezh.
There are 27 sides in the notebook, filled with Torah novellae inscribed in Rabbi Rozovsky’s holy handwriting.
This incredible notebook includes novellae composed and transcribed by Rabbi Rozovsky in his sleep!
This remarkable feat is recounted in the book about Rabbi Rozovsky, “The Rosh Yeshiva” page 377. Rabbi Rozovsky’s wife testified to this amazing achievement, recounting how the Rosh Yeshiva would arise a number of times at night, check up books or write his Torah thoughts, before returning to bed.
Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky, 1913-1979, was born to his father, HaGaon Rabbi Michel David, who was a Rabbi in Grodna, Lithuania. He studied in Yeshivat Sha’ar Haorah under HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Shkop. He immigrated to the Holy Land in 1936, and studied in Lomza Yeshiva, Petach Tikva, under HaGaon Rabbi Reuven Katz. Rabbi Rozovsky married the daughter of HaGaon Rabbi Zvi Pesach, Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. With the establishment of Ponovezh Yeshiva in 1944 by Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, Rabbi Rozovsky was called upon to head the Yeshiva. Rabbi Rozovsky held this post until his passing. His lessons and style of Torah study continue to influence the World of Yeshivot and Study Halls around the world.
