Two comments in the author's handwriting, on page 23 and on page 80 the author wrote additions in his handwriting, the author added these additions to the book in the next edition.
First edition of this revolutionary work. The first time that a book was published which was completely dedicated to the topic of Lashon Hara and Rechilut. The author, Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaCohen, is known as the " Chafetz Chaim", after the name of this book, even though he later wrote the Mishna Berura and others. The author printed the book anonymously, and his name is also not mentioned in the approbations, however, in the margins of the title page is printed – in Latin letters – I. M. Kagan.
