(FRENCH ANTI-SEMITISM) CHARLES LESCAT
(1887-1948) Anti-Semitic French writer, best known as the editor-in-cheif of Robert Brasillach's anti-Semitic journal 'Je Suis Partout.' War-date T.L.S. on 'Je Suis Partout' letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Paris, June 2, 1943, certifying the employment of Albert Bonnard for the newspaper. Lescat signs at the conclusion as the Chairman of the newspaper's Board of Directors. Three hole punches at left and a one-inch tear on top left, else fine. Panned after the war for its promotion of fascism, 'Je Suis Partout' was accused of collaborating with Nazi occupiers, while publishing some of the most vitriolic, anti-Semitic content that was available outside of Germany at the time.
