Copy of an unknown letter by Moron the Nodah BiYehuda - to the leaders of the Pressburg community the Parnas Rabbi Avraham and the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger author of 'Mishnas Rabbi Akiva', on matters of inheritance and custody of orphans.
The letter indicates the power of Moron the Nodah BiYehuda's leadership, when one of the important figures of the community had passed away, R. Michael Partzivi, the stepson of Rabbi Avraham Dushnis Segal, the leader of the community. The letter refers, among the leaders and Parnasim of the community, to Rabbi Chaim Dayan.
The letter was copied by the religious scholar Rabbi Michael Shai [passed away in 1979] and was never printed. On the back of the leaf there are detailed comments, presumably also handwritten by him, including important comments pertaining to historical details mentioned in the letter.
28X21 cm. Considerable fold marks with lengthwise tears. Stains. Fair-good condition.
