"Since they are brave fighters for the honor of Hashem Yisborach" a letter requesting to vote for Agudas Yisroel signed by the Gaon Rabbi Ezra Atiya the Rosh Yeshiva of the Poras Yosef Yeshiva, Jerusalem, 1961 [apparently].
In the letter to the members of the Halabi community Rabbi Ezra Atiya calls to vote for the Haredi party G.D. (a union between Agudas Yisroel and Poalei Agudas Yisroel) "which the Geonim and Kedoshim of Yisroel demand and request by the power of the Holy Torah to vote for".
The great Gaon Rabbi Ezra Atiya (1887-1970) the Rosh Yeshiva of the Poras Yosef Yeshiva and one of the greatest Sephardic rabbis. In his youth studied with the Geonim Rabbi Raphael Shlomo Laniado and Rabbi Yosef Yadid Halevi. Rabbi Ezra headed the Poras Yosef Yeshiva for many years having many disciples who became leaders of Sephardic communities and Poskim. His greatest disicple was the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Ovadya Yosef.
