One of the First Chassidus Seforim or the First One that was Written! Darkei Yesharim by Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Premishlan a Disciple of the Holy Baal Shem Tov. Berditchov, [1817].

The first Chassidus Sefer that was written or one of the first! Darkei Yesharim by Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Premishlan a Disciple of the Holy Baal Shem Tov. Printed by Rabbi Yisroel Bak of Berditchov, [1817].

The Sefer Darkei Yesharim by the Holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Premishlan, a Disciple of the Holy Baal Shem Tov, who headed the first immigration of Chassidim to the Holy Land. A sefer of little quantity and much quality which was extremely liked by the community of Cassidim and had many editions. Before us is the edition that was printed in Bertichev, several years after the passing of the Rav of the city, the Holy Rav Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev.

According to some scholars and Chassidim, its writing preceded the writing of 'Toldos yaakov Yosef' since it was written before his immigration to the Holy Land in 1764. Thus, it is the first Chassidus Sefer that was written and in any case, one of the very first. Added to this edition were Imros Kodesh by the Maggid of Mezeritch and Hanhagos HaAdam by the Holy Rav the Noam Elimelech of Lizhensk. This Hanhagas HaAdam is actually what was eventually published in the Sefer Arba'ah Charashim, Lemberg 1849 - under the title 'Tzetel Katan'. Before us it was printed many years earlier, with several variations.
