"So that the Torah will not be forgotten from Israel", touching lines handwritten by the Gaon author of Imrei Moshe of Brisk on a letter of the Committee of Yeshivas in Vilnius, Brisk, 1930.
The letter was sent to the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Sokolovsky of the Committee of Yeshivas with a request that he enclose his opinion about the necessity of the pure existence of yeshivas in Lithuania since the JOINT organization refuses to transfer financial support without closing some of the yeshivas and add the study of a profession to their curriculum.
Rabbi Moshe added several lines on the lower part of the letter, explaining the great necessity of the yeshivas so that Torah will not be forgotten from Israel.
The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Sokolovsky (1868-1931) one of the Geonim of Lithuania, author of Imrei Moshe. A disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Brisk. he headed the yeshiva with the Gaon Rabbi Simcha Zelig Rieger. The Sefer 'Imrei Moshe' was most common in Lithuanian yeshivas.
