Sefer HaYashar L'Rabbeinu Tam. First Edition. Greece, 1811. Fundamental Book.

Sefer HaYashar - on Talmudic topics by Rabbeinu Tam - one of the leading Tosafists. First edition. Halachic novellae, elucidation of topics, and responsa. At the beginning of the book, there is an approbation by Rabbi Mordechai Bennett and an approbation by the author Chatam Sofer. Signatures and inscriptions.

Sefer HaYashar is divided into two parts: The first is novellae on the Babylonian Talmud, and the second is responsa. The book was written in 1149 by Rabbeinu Ya'akov Tam, one of the leading Tosafists, and some of it was arranged by disciples of Rabbeinu Tam's, including Rabbi Eliezer of Metz and Rabbeinu Peter. Despite the book's being printed for the first time only hundreds of years after Rabbeinu Tam's passing, it carried his own title - Sefer HaYashar - on the cover, as appears in his preface: "I called the book by this name, for all the commandments have been properly explained therein."
