"Can These Bones Live?!" Complex Halachic Question on Hilchos Agunah that was Sent to Moron the Chazon Ish after the Holocaust, Antwerp, 1950

"Since the woman is begging and crying in the bitterness of her soul" a complex, painful Halachic question on Hilchos Agunah that was sent to Moron the Chazon Ish in the years after the Holocaust from the Beis Din of Antwerp, Antwerp, 1950.

In their letter, the Dayanim the Geonim Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Rottenberg the son of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai the Rav of Antwerp and the future Abd of Paris abd Rabbi Meir Segal Landau of Drohobich ask the Chazon Ish about the wide of a Cohen regarding whom there is evidence that he was killed in the Auschwitz Death Camp while his wife was with child and when she gave birth, the baby died and there was a dispute whether he was Bar Kayma -  whether the woman (who got engaged in the meantime to another Jew) can be permitted to marry without the need for Chalitza.

Official stationery of the 'Beis Din Rabba of the United Communities of Antwerp".

22X21 cm. Fold marks. Very good condition.
