Large Collection - about 200 Paper Items of the Beginning of the Art, Music and Theater Institutions in the Land of Israel - Most of them from the British Mandate Period
During the British Mandate, after the Balfour Declaration, there was a great revival of the cultural and artistic life in Israel and initial, interesting attempts were made to develop a new, modern Israeli culture.
Before us is a unique collection documenting the cultural revival during the British Mandate period and the first years of the State. Among others, one can see the formation of the large cultural institutions, which we are familiar with today, such as Ha'Bima Theater, the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and more.
The collection includes more than 200 paper items, programmes and booklets published by old and new schools of art, theaters, opera houses and music halls in the Land of Israel.
