Hanukkah lamp made of silver, partially gold-plated, an impressive work of an artist. Uzbekistan, the end of the 19th century.
Massive Hanukkah lamp with a backplate and eight oil fonts positioned on the background of the Menorah of the Temple and a stylish Shamash positioned on a curved stalk.
The lamp is inlaid with a large number of gem stones, among them turquoises, carnelians, garnets, amethysts and additional blue, green and brown gem stones.
The geometric ornamental lines are completed with shapes of rhombuses, stars-of-David and small pyramids made of silver.
The Hanukkah lamp is of original, artistic appearance, decorated with decorations typical of the work of Jewish artists in Bukhara - one of the most ancient cultural centers in central Asia.
Stamped with original Uzbekistan silver stamps and purity stamp "800" (it is possible that the "800" stamp is a late one).
Height: 53 cm. Length: 50 cm.
Weight: 6,550 grams
Attached are documents verifying the authenticity and the historical and artistic importance of the lamp. The documents were written by a Judaica curator and the manager of the precious metals department of the National Museum of History in Moscow, Russia.
