About The Artist:
Dieckmann was born in Verden, Germany. After the war he worked at the German Federal Railroad factory in Bremen. In his spare time, he used to watch life on the farm. He often spends his holidays in France and his special love is the city of Paris. Today, he lives and works in Bremen.
Dieckmann is an autodidact and it is easily noticed that his work is affected from the memory of his life during the last century. His painting in the exhibition illustrate the daily life of common people in their free time with the typical Parisian city landscape. He adds to his work a nostalgic touch of a simple life, non technologic, that induces the viewer a longing for the recent past.
