Letter in the Handwriting of the Rachmastrivka Rebbe, to Encourage Participation in the Elections for the Jerusalem City Council – 1960
During the elections for the Jerusalem Municipality that took place on the second of Cheshvan 1960, the various religious parties joined forces in a party named "Chazit Toratit Datit Agudat Yisrael, Poalei Agudat Yisrael, Datiyim Bilti Miflagtiyim".
The Rebbe of Rachmastrivka, like many others rabbis of Jersualem, saw this as kind of an apocalypse and encouraged the union.
In the letter, the Rebbe writes: "I would like to attend your meeting, yet am unable to. Therefore, I enclose my handwritten opinion – words of encouragement and support for the joint party".
