The annual "Yisrael" was published by Brit Tze'irei Ha'Mizrachi in Greece. Before us is the first issue of the annual, which was published in 1931.
"Ha'Mizrachi" Society was very popular in Salonika, which had a large and very Zionist Jewish community. The Society was founded in the twon in 1919.
This Zionist annual contains original articles (among them an article about Lord Balfour by Shmuel Chaim Landau and an article by Rabbi Ben Zion Meir Chai Uziel, the rabbi of Tel Aviv and former rabbi of Salonika), poems, interesting photographs and illustrated advertisement in the spirit of the times.
On the envelope there is a (faded) stamp of the branch of the Society in Salonika.
An interesting and most rare booklet!
