BENJAMIN HARRISON
(1833 - 1901) 23rd President of the United States. Partly-printed D.S. as President, 1p. folio on vellum, Washington, D.C., Nov. 17, 1892, appointing LOUIS E. MCCOMAS (1846-1907) Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia. Harrison signs at the conclusion in black ink, with Attorney General WILLIAM H. H. MILLER (1840-1917) countersigning. Shows some loss to the seal at lower left, with expected small folds and minor soiling overall, else very good. McComas would also serve as an Associate Justice of the D.C. Court of Appeals and a Maryland senator and congressional representative.
