A well-constructed 'quack' medical device used to conduct an alternating electric current through a gullible patient, thereby inducing relief through the wonders of the placebo effect. The apparatus consist of a 'Bond No. 6 High Amperage' dry cell battery stored beneath a wood panel. It is connected to a capacitor whose output is controlled by two sets of switches which have a total of three pin-type plug-in connections. Wires are included which attach to various handles, probes, plates, etc. The entirety is housed in a finished wood case, 8.25 x 8 x 6 in., with leather carrying handle.
