American World War I propaganda poster, 29.5 x 20.25 in., depicting a wounded but smiling American soldier carrying three German helmets as trophies, titled 'And They Thought We Couldn't Fight' at top right. The additional slogan 'Victory Liberty Loan' appears at bottom. The printed signature or artist Clyde Forsythe appears at lower right, above a publishing line identifying the printer as 'Ketterlinus' of Philadelphia. Shows notable tears to the edges with some spots of staining, estimated accordingly.
