NSKK/DDAC RACING PLAQUES
Good lot of two plaques from the 'Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps' (NSKK) and 'Der Deutsche Automobil Club' (DDAC), includes: Ornate bronze NSKK-DDAC plaque, 5.25 in. dia., bearing the head of an eagle at center, surrounded by a mobile swastika, the date '1934', and the label: '2000km Durch Deutschland' ('2000km Through Germany'). Mounted to a slab of black marble to a total size of 6.25 x 6.25 in. Very good. The '2000 Kilometer Through Germany' motor race was first launched in 1933. Nearly 2000 cars drove nonstop from Baden-Baden through Munich, Saxony, Berlin, Kologne, then back to Baden-Baden. Sold with a diamond-shaped 1938 DDAC plaque from Westmark, 3 in. square, bearing the emblem of the DDAC at bottom and reading 'Touristische Jahreswertung' ('Annual Tourist Rating') along the top edges.
