Special elaborate print on a large sheet issued by the Beth Din and leaders of the Posen Jewish Community greeting Sir Moses Montefiore on his return from a mission to intervene for Russian Jewry with the Russian Czar.
Contains two poems, one in Hebrew and one in German (by Rabbi Solomon Plessner of Posen), with references to Montefiore’s intervention on behalf of the Jews of Yemen and Damascus and mentions of Lady Judith Montefiore and Rabbi Eliezer Loewe – Montefiore’s secretary.

Very rare – never previously sold at auction and not in JNUL.
