A printed photograph of Rabbi Matzliach Mazuz הי"ד, Rosh Yeshivat 'Kiseh Rahamim' in Tunisia.


Rabbi Chaim Kadir Matzliach Mazuz [1912-1971] One of the chief rabbis in Tunisia, a dayan, founder and head of the Kiseh Rahamim yeshiva. Born in Djerba to Rabbi Raphael Mazuz, son of  family of rabbis, and Rachel to Beit Saadoun. He was ordained a judge, then moved to the capital Tunis to serve as head of the Hevrat Hatalmud Yeshiva, and was also appointed a judge in the rabbinical court there, under the leadership of Rabbis David Ben Baron and Mordechai Amays Cohen, until his closure by the authorities in 1958. In Kislev 1963 he established the Kisa Rahamim Yeshiva in the name of his rabbi Rabbi Hayuta.On January 18, 1971, he was murdered by a Muslim assassin on his return home from morning prayers. Was buried in Tunis, and after about a month and a half was brought for burial in Israel and buried in the Mount of Olives cemetery. After his death, his family immigrated to Israel. His sons, led by his eldest son, Rabbi Meir Mazuz, renewed the  KIsseh Rahamim Yeshiva in the city of Bnei Brak.
