The Mekubal genius Rabbi Moshe Zaken Mazuz [1851-1915], The great sage of Djerba. studied with his great rabbis, Rabbi Avraham HaCohen, Rabbi Sassi Matuk Cohen Yonatan, and Rabbi Chaim HaCohen of Tripoli, who was his definite rabbi. In 1875 he was appointed a dayan in the city of Djerba, and in 1905 he became av beit din until his death. Has placed many students, and most of the sages of Djerba in recent generations, trust and rely on his instructions and rulings. has written many books, among them: 'sever Panim' - Shas innovations, 'Shaarei Moshe' - responsa and innovations in Halacha, 'Shaarei Torah' - innovations and sermons in Halacha, 'Shem Moshe' - various matters, and more.
