Medal, establishment of Rishon LeZion
Copper medal, minted on the occasion of the establishment of Rishon LeZion, 1882. On one side are views of the settlement, above: the date "1882"; surrounded by the verse (Yeshayahu 41, 27) "They are Rishon LeZion (first of Zion) and I will bring the herald to Jerusalem / Rishon LeZion Colony". On the other side is a "Magen David" and two gates: the right portrays a Jew sowing his field and on the left are Jews near the Western Wall. Around the medal is the inscription, "If I forget you Jerusalem my right hand shall be forgotten". Diameter: 28 mm.
