Hagaon Rav Ezriel Hildsheimer [5580-5659] served as Rav of Eisenstadt and founded the Beis Midrash LaRabbonim as well as the approach of 'Torah Im Derech Eretz", which awakened strong opposition from many in Hungary. From year 1869 he was Rav of the "Adas Yisrael" orthodox community in Berlin. Was active against the reform movement, founded many chessed organizations and supported Jewish communities around the world as well as the settling of Eretz Yisrael.
