SS POLIZEI-DIENSTPASS FOR PARTISAN-FIGHTER IN POLAND
Polizei-Dienstpass issued to German Police (SS) Oberwachtmeister Josef Eizenberger of III. Polizei Regiment 4 which was incorporated into the SS in mid-1943. Eizenberger born in Linz in 1897 served in Poland from June 18 1943 to March 18 1944 and this record shows he was involved in dozens of battles against "partisans" locally and in the countryside though many times in what were apparently anti-Jew mopping-up efforts. His last engagements were with 'Kampfgruppe Scherner' in Galicia Lublin Warsaw and Bug again against Soviet partisans and Polish resistance fighters. It appears that Eizenberger left the service on Aug. 27 1944. Very good.
