OMAR N. BRADLEY
(1893 - 1981) American general of World War II who commanded the largest ground force ever led by one man, later Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Signed FDC, 1p. oblong 12mo., commemorating V-E Day and bearing the printed text: 'Victory in Europe...Germany Surrenders...May 8, 1945'. Bradley signs at right in black ink. Also signed at bottom by FRANK L. TEIXEIRA, captain of Company G, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st U.S. Infantry Division. The obverse bears a May 8, 1945 cancel, and the reverse bears a May 8, 1995 cancel and the printed text: 'HISTORICAL Cover No. 20'. Fine.
