ALBERT SPEER
(1905-1981) Nazi German architect and Minister of Armaments and War Production, convicted of war crimes at Nuremberg. Fine content T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Feb. 22, 1969 in German to an American collector. Speer has been sent a postcard, and from it he has identified the signatures of Doctor and Mrs. Morell, photographer Heinrich Hoffmann's wife, and Josef Thorak. He continues: '...Letters to Mr. [Rudolf] Hess can only be written by relatives. Even letters from friends and acquaintances are not handed over. Likewise, he has no way of sending the sketch to you...I have no intention of giving them [Speer sketches] up. I also have over 100 drawings by Hitler of his buildings, but I don't think I want to part with them right now...' Very good.
