The chapters deal with the establishment and organization of the ghetto, compulsory labor, diseases and mortality, persecutions and deportations, internal conditions (living conditions, family life, social relations, political life, cultural life, religious life, and criminality in the ghetto), and the question of why there was no armed resistance.
