Sefer Hatrumos, Prague 1605.

A complete copy of Sefer Hatrumos, printed in Prague in 1605. Second Edition. Authored by R. Shmuel HaSardi one of the Chachmei Sefard, and disciple of the Ramban. This work deals with monetary issues and is arranged according to topics, each divided into separate Sh’earim (gates). In his introduction he writes that the purpose of this work is to provide a comprehensive guide to use when dealing in monetary issues. Please see the Hebrew translation for an exact quote from his introduction.

This work was subsequently republished some years later (in 1643) by R. Azariah Figo from Italy, who wrote an extensive commentary entitled “Gidulei Trumah”, which remains a classic work till today. In fact, R. Azariah Figo is known primarily because of his Gidulei Trumah, which serves as a commentary to this very work.

In very good condition. Paper browned, as in all Prague imprints. With a striking woodcut border depicting various illustrations of human faces, flanked by angels.
